#그리스도인의힘

“그러므로 내가 그리스도를 위하여 약한 것들과 능욕과 궁

핍과 핍박과 곤란을 기뻐하노니 이는 내가 약할 그 때에 곧

강함이니라”

거듭나고 구원을 받았을 때 삶에서 모든 것을 다 이룬 것 같

았다. 하지만 그때부터 그리스도인의 삶이 만만치 않다는

것을 느끼기 시작했다.

​

만사 형통할 것 같았던 현실이 꼬인다는 생각마저 들었다.

주변에서 이유 없이 미워할 때에는 당혹스럽기도 했다. 그

러다가 성경을 통해 그리스도인의 삶에서 고난은 필연이란

사실을 알게 됐다. 그리고 인간이 얼마나 나약한 존재인지

도 알게 됐다.

그런데 성경은 약할 때에 강한 것이 그리스도인이라고 말씀

하셨다. 다윗도 자신의 약함을 항시 알게 해달라고 하나님

께 간구했는데 같은 맥락의 말씀인 것이다.

​

우리에게 능력이 있다면 하나님을 의지하지 않을 것이다.

하지만 능력이 없음을 알게 되면 오로지 하나님을 의지하게

될 것이다. 성경은 하나님을 의지하는 순간이 그리스도인의

힘이라고 설명하신 것이다.

“That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

​

When I was born again and received salvation, I felt as if I had accomplished everything in life. Yet from that very moment, I began to realize how difficult the life of a Christian is.

​

The reality that once seemed smooth and prosperous began to feel tangled and uncertain. I was even bewildered when others hated me for no reason. But through Scripture, I came to understand that suffering is an inevitable part of a Christian’s life and that mankind is far more fragile than I had thought.

​

By the way, the Bible tells us that a Christian is strong when he or she is weak. David himself prayed that God would constantly remind him of his weakness, and the same applies to us.

​

If we had strength in ourselves, we would not rely on God. But once we realize our powerlessness, we have no choice but to depend entirely on Him. Scripture teaches that the very moment we rely on God is the true strength of a Christian.
