삼가야할 것...

“종일 주의 이름으로 기뻐하며 주의 의로 인하여 높아지오니”

소위 종교인들은 자신이 처한 현실에 따라 감정의 기복을 겪

는다.

​

삶에서 승승장구하거나 자신감이 드높을 때 자긍심을 느끼

고 그렇지 않을 때 좌절하는 경우가 많다는 의미이다. 그들

에게는 스스로의 공로가 자신의 운명을 판단하는 척도가

되기 때문이다.

​

하지만 참된 그리스도인들은 자신의 현재 상황과 관계없이

주님께서 하신 공로만을 의지하므로 미래를 전혀 염려하지

않는다. 그리스도인은 자신을 자랑하지 않고 주님만을 의

지하는 자라 할 수 있다.

​

그래서 우리는 스스로 높아지는 것을 삼가야 하고 스스로를

낮추는 것을 생활화해야 한다. 오직 주님이 우리 가운데 높

아져야 하고 주님의 이름으로 기뻐하는 것이 우리의 삶이기

때문이다.

“They rejoice in your name all day long; they exult in your righteousness.”

​

So-called religious people often experience emotional ups and downs depending on their situations.

​

When life is going well or their confidence is high, they feel proud of themselves; but when it is not, they easily fall into discouragement. This is because they regard their own achievements as the measure that determines their destiny.

​

However, true Christians do not worry about the future, because they rely solely on the work of the Lord, regardless of their present situation. A Christian is someone who does not boast in himself but depends entirely on the Lord.

​

Therefore, we must guard ourselves from exalting our own name and learn to make humility a way of life. Only the Lord should be exalted among us, and rejoicing in His name must be the very pattern of our lives.
